Roam Fest Sedona
A MESSAGE FROM OUR FESTIVAL DIRECTOR
Is it really just seven more sleeps to Sedona??? Our crew is furiously answering emails, filling in spreadsheets, packing 400 gallons worth of Nuun tablets, and doing a million other things to kick this party off right.

I wanted to send a few quick reminders to address a lot of emails our team is receiving:
Getting Here/Staying Here
-
Need a ride? Have extra room? Please utilize our RIDE/HOUSING SHARE document to coordinator yo'selves.
Parking
-
Parking is a shitshow. Please bike or walk over if you can.
-
Getting dropped off? Get dropped off at the end of the street (you will create a total cluster if you park in front of the venue.)
-
FYI you will be TOWED if you park in the Bell Rock Shopping Center. I swear the business owners get a kickback for every vehicle towed. You might see some branded vans; we have paid a pretty penny for limited vendor-only parking permits.
COVID Documents
-
A photo of your vaccination card or negative COVID test is acceptable.
Bikes/Group Rides
-
We have 136 demo bikes coming. If you are an XS or a Small frame size, availability will be limited. Please plan accordingly.
-
You will need a credit card and ID to demo a bike. Be ride-ready. No need to bring pedals.
-
Group ride schedule/shuttles/and signups will happen at the Ride Zone.
-
We will have a bike corral for day parking of your personal bikes.
Food
-
Breakfast & lunch are OYO (food avail down the street), dinner is on us Fri/Sat.
Evening Activities
-
BRING WARM CLOTHES/A BLANKET. We have bag check at reg.

Last thing: Please please do not arrive early on Friday. I know. I know. Y'all are excited, I promise we are too. Early arrivals to Roam Fest are akin to your mother-in-law showing up an hour early to a holiday dinner that you just aren't prepared for. The dishes aren't done. The table isn't set. Little Fido's poops are still all over the lawn. It's so embarrassing and stressful isn't it?

Good little shredders will wait until 7:59 on Friday to waltz up to registration - masks on, and vaccination proof in hand.

Whew! I'm sure I forgot a few things that i'll send out in our final e-mail. In the meantime, feel free to scroll down for the info from our past newsletter.

Keep the stoke,
Ash Zolton

COVID-19 Vaccination/Test Requirements

Valid proof of a negative COVID test or full vaccination is required upon entry
Q: Do I need to wear a mask when I arrive?
A: Please have a mask on when getting into line until you've had your records checked. Once you've received a festival wristband, you can take your mask off while at the festival. Masks are still required when inside shuttle vehicles, no exceptions.
Q: Do I have to have my physical vaccination card or test results?
A: A photo or email of either document is acceptable.

Q: Can I bring a doctor's note of medical vaccination exemption in-lieu of a negative COVID test?
A: Doctor's notes will NOT be accepted. If you are not vaccinated, you will need to bring results of a negative COVID test to enter the festival.
Q: What is the time frame for COVID tests?
A: If you are not fully vaccinated, you will need to take a COVID test with results received within 48 hours of the event (i.e. we cannot accept COVID test results that you received prior to 11/2).

Q: Will you be checking ID's?
A: Yes. We need to verify your age (over 21) anyway, so we'll cross reference your ID with your COVID documents at the same time. Please have your ID ready.
Your safety is our top priority.
Our vaccination/test policy will be strictly enforced.

There will be a crew of stoke-filled brands hanging out for the weekend with apparel, gear, and bike services. This includes several of our local shops and local trail non-profit VVCC

Workshops will be happening all weekend before and after your rides. A full schedule will be available at the festival expo.

Evening Activities
Should you stick around for the evening? OH HELL YES!
Real talk? It’s a total rookie move to leave the festival in the evening.
We feed you dinner. We show adventure films. We rented a ton of heat lamps, bought fire wood , and have 50 blankets to keep you toasty. There's also a DANCE PARTY that you DO NOT want to miss! And yes, the animal costume theme is actually a thing.

We're thrilled to announce the launch of the
Roam Fest Adventure Film Tour!
This epic evening of all things shred has been programed by our staff with YOU in mind.

Celebrating diversity, equity, & allyship in the outdoors
SHREDTalks Panel
Saturday Night

Join us for a discussion on diversity, equity, and allyship in the outdoors. This year's panel will be moderated by DEI Specialist and outdoor enthusiast Alyssa Gonzalez.
Enjoy an evening of enlightenment from a group of shredders leading the charge and making big, positive changes in the outdoor scene.

Join us after the SHREDTalks panel for a special keynote:
Be Good with Rebecca Rusch

WHAT DID WE MISS?

Weather
Rain or shine, the festival will go on! We have shelter should any nasty weather roll our way and backup plans if trail conditions become unrideable. Practice being hardcore with us - and for goodness sake, bring a rain jacket, warm layers, and something to cover your noggin!

No refunds will be given due to weather conditions.

Yes, Costumes Are a Thing
Our very first festival was Halloween weekend, and we had so much fun dressing up that we've continued the tradition! If you're into themes, ours is animals...but by all means, bust out that pickle costume.

Most folks dress up before the SHREDTalks panel (keep layers on so you don't freeze), or they just throw on their outfits right before the dance. No costume? It is just a tiny bit less fun, but come as you are!

Bag Check + Bike Corral
We will have bag check at Registration. Please have anything you are planning to leave in...wait for it....a bag! We'll throw some tape and a name on it so we know it's yours. When you need the bag back, we'll jump into Nancy the school bus and get it out for you.

We'll also have an enclosed bike corral inside the expo venue should you want to leave your personal bike at the fest while your ride a demo whip!

BE NICE, SAY HI
Our name is on your wristband i.e. you represent US. We expect you to be fantabulous trail stewards, respectful toward others, and ambassadors of stoke.
We probably don't need to say this, but we will: Anything our staff deems inappropriate will not be tolerated and you/your party will be removed from the festival. Ugh. That would suck, so let's not even go there. Be kind.
